BPD Roaring Fork Valley is a confidential peer-to-peer support group for persons, friends and family affected by BiPolar Disorder.

Our goal is to have a constructive environment for BPD discussions on managing the disorder. We advocate a holistic approach; combining professional help, proactive lifestyle, self-assessment, and stress management.

Meetings include tips for recognizing triggers, identifying and treating mood swings, balancing traveling, exercise, healthy diet, irritability and medications. Dealing with counseling, work, and relationships. Interpreting a Bipolar Cycle, and more. From time to time we will use the following books as text: see reading list here.

The meetings are 1 hour long, and the format is:
   1/2 hour illness management topic/tips (as above)
   1/2 hour group discussion (varies)

Group rules:
This is intended to be a safe, nurturing space.
What you hear here stays here (confidentiality).
No cross-talk (interrupting or commenting).
We share our own experiences and do not give advice.
Disruptive people will be asked to leave.

 

There is no cost to attend the meetings, but we must pay rent. a $2 - $5 donation would be appreciated.
